Time to test those Aloha skills. A local facility stores Hydrochloric Acid 42% in an outdoor 5000-gallon tank. The facility is reporting the tank is releasing product from a 2-inch valve located about 6 feet from the tank bottom. The tank has containment of approximately 30 feet by 10 feet.
At 7:00 am on November 30, 2012, a railcar displaying placard number 1086 derailed near Paulsboro, New Jersey. The vehicle came to rest in a creek and appeared to be leaking liquid product from a 1 x 3 gash located about halfway up one side of the railcar. There is no fire involved at present, but Incident Command wants to know your assessment of any fire potential for this leaking product, placard 1086. In addition, there are a number of damaged railcars leaking what appears to be any number of products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, hydraulic fluids, anti-freeze, and even possibly battery acid.
A local facility is reporting a release of a material named “FLUORHYDRIC ACID”. A review of the facility Tier 2 report shows that the material is a 50% solution stored in a 2000 gallon, outdoor tank. The best estimate is the tank has a 10 x 12 yard containment area. There is a diesel fuel tank and some 55-gallon drums of a caustic soda solution nearby, but not in the same containment area.

At 8:30 am this morning, a freight train accident resulted in a derailment of 11 railcars. The derailment occurred in your local community. Responders have secured the immediate area, and have obtained some limited information on the materials contained in the 11 railcars.
